Acer Aspire One is the most popular version of netbooks in the market with different series and configuration available. This version provides from basic budget netbooks to more versatile netbooks having many features to cater the need for fully loaded computing.  AOA110-Ap series under Acer Aspire one category is a small netbook, which integrates all your personal work and entertainment while on go.

Slim Design:

This AOA110-Ap Mini Size netbook is made with nice curves at the edge that gives fine finishing. The slim structure is well portrayed with correct dimension of closing lid and underside, which nicely goes with fine bends at the corner with improved usability. When you open the lid you can see some warm and rounded bold section beneath the notebook screen that houses wide battery and lights that indicates the computing process. This bold rounded section beneath the screen has visible gap that is found between the screen and the hinge. Only two extreme corners of the screen is attached with the body of the netbook. It looks very delicate but the screen gives little flexibility with slanting screen position and looks sturdy. It is equipped with 0.3 mp webcam.

Screen:

This Acer Aspire One office Netbook comes with 8.9″ screen size and this small screen is glossy in its presentation. Normally glossy screen would not be preferred by users because of the reflection on the screen. This 8.9 inch netbook is exceptional and comes with great deal under budget range, whether you like the glossy screen or not is your personal choice. The screen position has to be placed correctly otherwise all the light will bounce back at you with reflection. This reflection would not be a major concern when you work under office or home lighting environment but when you move outside then screen would really annoys you. This 8.9″ screen has great clarity and sharpness; the colours are bold and strong with fabulous picture display at the lower price range of this netbook.

Connectivity:

Acer Aspire One AOA110-Ap Netbook Computer comes with three USB port connections, two USB in the left hand side of the netbook along with Ethernet port, SD card slot and VGA out. The third USB is in the other side along with headphone port, another SD card slot and kensington security.

Components:

The keypads are designed with large size and give comfortable key stroke positions that include big enter key. The space is well distributed between the keys for instant key stroke response and there is also dedicated page up and down buttons. The trackpad looks small and strategically placed at the centre of the layout with lot of space around for comfortable wrist rest. In order to save the space, Acer has designed this trackpad with click buttons on either side and you need to get used to this new positions. This office netbook comes with 16 GB SSD for memory storage and its performance is average in speed when it comes to writing data. It is suitable for normal office use and everyday surfing. It has high definition audio support and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi system for interactive communication.

Linux Platform:

You would get some interested applications on software side and this Aspire One AOA110-Ap 8.9 inch laptop netbook is supported by Linpus Linux Lite version. The versatile applications are OpenOffice 2.3, Messenger, Aspire one Mail, Acer eRecovery Management and Windows XP Home. This Linpus Linux Lite is supplied with Fedora platform along with improved boot up time of approximately 22 seconds. This platform gives only partial applications, so you can prefer full distro version of Fedora platform.
The Linux OS in this netbook takes few seconds to switch from one category to another in Ubuntu interface because Linux file write operation is put into large batch. This slow interface performance along with SSD speed puts you in intermittent lock ups during file writing operations. It is not a major concern for online work and for everyday browsing and watching movies. This Acer Aspire one office netbook is a good machine and the internal two stereo speakers produce pleasant audio features.

Verdict:

This SSD netbook is priced competitively and Acer offers this machine for budget users. It seems to be a good deal though some drawbacks pinches you.
